Let's Go... God's Mission To A Distressed World

Our Masiye Conference features an array of plenary talks, break-out seminars, networking opportunities and a fun excursion around the city of Johannesburg.

We anticipate to host this event during the mid-year school holidays (June 2024), to best allow more delegates to finalise their travel arrangements. The event is inclusive of meals and accommodation. This gives you added joy, comfort and connivence which makes for an incredible experience!

What to expect...

Plenary Talks

  • Plenary Session 1:
Why Missions Conference now? Place of Missions in the current global trends.
We engage and discuss the relevance of missions in our current day and age.

  • Plenary Session 2:
Understanding the scope of Missions; possible challenges and opportunities.
We explore the various areas of golden opportunities to engage in powerful, life-changing missions. This session furthermore elaborates on that challenges one may face as obstacles are bound to stand in one’s way of success.

  • Plenary Session 3:
Praying for the unreached people groups and the persecuted Church.
We spend time in addressing the needs of the unreached and discuss the social ills and circumstances in the lives of both believers in sensitive countries and the marginalised. We offer their needs and hardships up to God in prayer and consider what role we can play as labourers for God’s Kingdom in the missionary field.

  • Plenary Session 4:
Missions to the hurting communities.
We engage further on ways to minister and engage with the marginalised. This session particularly tackles modern-day ills across various social, religious and political spaces. How can we be empathic towards experiencing various difficulties in life?

  • Plenary Session 5:
Mobilising students and graduates for cross-border Missions.
This session seek to explore practical skills and the things one should be mindful of when embarking upon regional and international missionary work.

  • Plenary Session 6:
Resourcing for Missions: Partnering together for the Gospel.
The work of expanding the Christian mission is not limited to the four-walls of the church or that of missionary organisations. This session speaks about how business owners and influential corporate leaders can contribute to the workspace of everyday ministry and missionary workers.

  • Plenary Session 7:
Missions in a Digital World: The Online Missionary.
The Internet has become a powerful tool connecting millions of people across the globe. In this session we unpack how digital ministry can become an effective tool to reach the unreached in multiple ways and in multiple places.

  • Plenary Session 8:
Intentional Disciple Making in a modern world.
The current day and age has a lot of questionable things, especially when it comes to being a Christian. How would you respond to concerns regarding political views, sexuality and economic circumstances. How can we engage with individuals with respect to their preference and choices in a modern urbanised world?

  • Plenary Session 9:
Missions in partnership with the local church.

We are not isolated, nor are we working in silos. We are all connected through the body of church. Here’s how missionaries can work together with the local church in making missionary work possible.

  • Plenary Session 10:
Here I am Lord. Send Me.
The commandment is to GO. We discuss what the Lord requires of us and how we can make missionary work possible in our day and age. This session covers both spiritual and practical aspects with sound Biblical advice and references to undercover the true passion behind missionary work.

  • Plenary Session 11:
Entrepreneurship and Missions.
